Aged Chardonnays: Patience Rewards

It is no secret that Linden emulates the white wines of Burgundy. When grown on the proper site and handled sparingly in the cellar, the Chardonnay grape expresses terroir and ages with grace and resolve. It is unfortunate and annoying that the grape is too often manipulated in the cellar resulting in big, buttery, and oaky mass-marketing messes that have little to do with fine wine.

Chardonnay is considered one of the noble grapes because of its ability to age. If the intention of the winegrower is to produce a great wine, then by definition it must benefit and blossom with age. Only then will terroir expression, textural integration, and complexity be unveiled.

This Sunday Jim Law will share his passion for older vintages of Linden’s Chardonnays and older bottlings from Burgundy.

Sunday, April 30 at 11:00 or 1:00

Space in Linden’s Library is tight, so each reservation is limited to only one or two guests.
